Holiday Weekend

Brad finally made it home Monday evening thanks to a wonderful friend and co-worker of his who offered to trade places, missing Thanksgiving with his own family so Brad could get home to start the moving process and be with Addison and myself for the holiday. Just one of the MANY thanks we were thankful for this Thanksgiving. It is a lot of fun to see Brad with Addison and see her recognize her Daddy one more time. He has gotten back into the grind with diaper changes, baths, laughs, cries, and Addison's new milestone, eating rice cereal. Here are a few pictures of our weekend so far and we still have a couple more days to enjoy as a family before a long week ahead.

Playing around

Addison is almost 5 months now and I realize I never posted her 4 month well baby or have done much with updating on all of her new and fun accomplishments.  At her well baby, she is now in the 80th percentile for weight, not AS chubby, but still sporting her Popeye arms.  She had to get two more shots which went SO much better than the last time, I am learning!  She is sprouting up like a weed which has been disheartening to see because Brad is missing her being this small ever again.  She is rolling over like a champ, as soon as I set her down she flips on over with a big grin on her face .  She has been hanging out talking and entertaining herself in her crib when she wakes up in the morning which I LOVE to be able to lay and listen to her. When I get her from the crib I could possibly find her on the opposite end of the crib from where she first started and/or turned the opposite direction, funny how that works.   She is noticing Bailey a lot more and gets excited every time she sees her.  Addison loves it when I take her close to Bailey so she can grab her nose, ears, or just pull a chunk of hair right out, thankfully Bailey has yet to be disturbed by any of this.  She is starting to become entertained and laugh at things she sees without prompting which is my favorite thing so far.  She has yet to discover the belly laugh though.  She loves to chew, chew, chew on anything and everything that her hands can grab onto.

Here are a few pictures of her in her exersaucer.  She enjoys hanging out and bouncing around in it.

Here is a fun video of her talking and hanging out.  I was on the phone with Brad taking this shot. Thankfully he was able to continue to hear her squeals and jabbering without the video in her face. (She still tends to clam up as soon as she notices the blinking light from the camera.)

Another one of her rolling over like a champ.

We are still waiting for Brad to get home.  Although Hawaii is not a bad place to hang out for a week or so, we still would all prefer him to be home.

Thank goodness for distractions

It is Monday afternoon almost a day before Brad is supposed to be home and of course knowingly he will be delayed a day or two just because that is the way the 'jet's fly' ( I think that was only funny to me in my own head, sorry).   Yesterday I started writing down ALL of our activities that are scheduled while we are home for the holiday's, which they all seem much more important this year with a kiddo in tow.  As I am doing this I finally start to look at dates for possibly having the movers come, what day would be best to fly out on, etc... and then it hit me, we are going to be moving in a month!  That means, movers in possibly two weeks, selling the car in three, moving into TLF in three, on top of Christmas shopping, holiday parties, packing, painting, making my TO DO lists,  oh boy!  I am glad I am just now realizing all of this stuff because not much of this can be done until Brad gets home.  So thank you Addison for being a perfect and beautiful distraction to all the things that I realize will get done in due time!
I think this will be my meditation this next month to help get me through.

Ahh..., I will miss engrish.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

What else could she be saying but....
Happy Birthday to YOU
Happy Birthday to YOU
Happy Birthday to Daddy,
Happy Birthday to YOU!

By the way, I have been trying to upload this video since our time Monday morning, thankfully we were able to get it downloaded with 30 minutes to spare before Dad's day was officially over back in the states that is.
We are looking forward to seeing you in a week.
Miss you!
Love, Ang n Addie

Try, try again

This past weekend I went to a friends baby shower and afterwards I had to take a picture of Addison looking so grown up.  So, to complete this task I started making the usual funny noises to get her attention which works like magic and then I try to capture that smile of hers (remember my point in the last blog, it truly does take two).  Here are my quick shots attempting to get that sweet smile but her attention towards me did not last long once she spotted the fan right above her.   Just by looking at the pictures it is fun to wonder what she is thinking.

A Smile for you

While in Tokyo Ginger was able to capture some great Smile shots of Addison.  I figured out it only takes one to get the smile but two to capture it on camera.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Jan, I have to say Brad commented on Addison's 'Grandma Jan shorts', I thought you would like that!  She is taking after you already.
One of our many stops waiting for our subway to take us on another adventure.

                                                        Just a happy little girl!

Well, I had to add this one because this is the other expression that filled up all of Ginger's camera.  Once you get the camera pointed at her, she goes into deer in the headlights mode.

Dad, I'm a big girl now!

This morning Addison was showing me all the things she can do.  She can pull herself up using my fingers to a sitting position and then push herself up on her legs.  She can push her upper body up to look around while on her belly and now she can roll over consistently.  She did this three times in a row. Thankfully I was able to catch one on camera for Dad.

Here is the rest of it, what a big girl!

Can not wait for you to get home Dad!

How Could I Not

While in Tokyo we visited the Zoo and saw a lot of animals. Giraffes, elephants, birds, red pandas, kangaroos, etc. Of course our favorite were the monkeys. Ginger just happened to catch an intimate moment between two of them and I could not resist sharing.

You know the saying 'A picture is worth a thousand words'  In this case, there are only a few words.
