A Perfect Day (and a half)

One of many we have had, but add special, once in a lifetime, one for the blog, etc....and that sums up our Easter weekend. We had a beautiful day on Sunday. Woke up earlier than normal to get ourselves ready for the 7:00 morning church service (to avoid the over packed church services during the day), thankfully our plan worked out well. It was a great service (quiet) and the homily was great! What a perfect way to start our day by celebrating the LORD...HE is RISEN!! Got home, let Miss A find her eggs around the house and delve into her and Mr. B's baskets and then off into the van to head to Washington D.C!

We dropped our bags at our hotel and out the door to take in the sights and the Cherry Blossom festival. It was a beautiful sunny 70's kind of day. The trees were blooming beautifully and the scenery and museums were not too shabby either! After a long afternoon of walking and taking in the sights we headed back to the hotel for a good nights sleep..... (which translates to a mediocre sleep because really, who ever gets a wonderful nights sleep in a hotel?).

Monday morning bright and early we started our day getting dressed and ready for the 'once in a lifetime' memory I was talking about earlier. Ever heard of the White House Easter Egg Roll? (Backtracking a little....) Well, I had not until March when Brad's boss called to ask if we would mind being entered to get 4 tickets to the event.....really?...of course I would not mind!!! As soon as I got off the phone with him I googled it and WOW, what a fun event! Having not heard anything I assumed the tickets were given to another family of four until last week when Brad told me he had to pick up the tickets! SUPER excited! If you would like to learn a little more about this White House tradition that started in 1878, click here.

Anyway, here is a little video I made this morning to keepsake this weekend for our family. Sorry kinda long. We have a few more pictures on our web album, click here if you would like to see those.

We hope you all had as blessed an Easter as we did! Praise be to GOD!
