Sunday Breakfast

Today after Church we went out to Breakfast at a little restaurant called the Hearth right along the sea wall.  Yesterday Addison was 1 month old so we thought we would catch all of her wisdom she has to offer at such a young age for all of us out there to learn from.....as you can see, we do not have much to gain other than she is darn cute right!!  (Also as a side note, we had her dress  up over her head because it was very humid outside and we were letting her get a little air.....don't we all wish we could do that once in a while!)

Here are a few other pictures to enjoy.
Dad getting to help with the feedings!  YEAH~  It also helped Mom get a hair cut and attempt to go shopping for clothes, which by the way, is not fun when you know you will not fit into your pre-pregnancy clothes but hold onto some sort of hope that MAYBE just maybe you might after one month post-pregnancy....guess which category I was in!  I suppose I forgot to order the tummy tuck with the labor and delivery, maybe next time  =-)
                                             This was just too cute.

WAY TO GO DAD!

Well, as some of you know, Brad was in Vegas for a 6 month long course for Weapons School in regards to the F-15 from Jan-June.  On June 14th, he graduated.  Unfortunatley,  Addison and I were unable to attend the celebration being as she was still brewing in the belly. This course for those who may not know much about it, is a course that the students (Brad) are hand picked by the school to attend.  There are usually only 5-6 students per class, held twice a year.  Of course Brad had to apply but it was a blessing for him to be accepted.  This course consists of many hours of academics along with many, many longer hours of flying and perfecting those flights.

Brad's parents, Jan and Dave along with his older sister Ginger attended the event and were able to watch all of Brad's hard work pay off as he received the Academic Acheivment Award on top of finishing the course.  Addison and I are SOO proud of you Brad.  Sorry it has taken us this long to recognize you with everyone else we know and love!!

Keep up the good work, we love you!

Out with the girls

Addison and I have been out and about lately, thankfully she is still loving her car seat and will hang out as well as take naps while we are out.  We met up with a couple friends of ours the other day at a local Coffee place called Coffee Casa.   Along with delicious coffee, they serve it to you with the most amazing design of a leaf or swirls in the whipped cream, it always looks too pretty to drink. Of course I did not order one to take a picture and show you, sorry, another day i suppose.   Anyway, here are a couple pictures of our outing and Addison with her cute little onesie representing Okinawa.  Also, with the hair she does have I attempted to strike her with a little bow....if you look hard enough you might be able to see it.

EXCITING NEWS

                                 We are moving!
Where? To Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. What do you think....she could be a future Dance Team member right!

Of course we knew we would not be in Okinawa forever, but, this landed in our laps 9 months earlier than our rotation date. Come December we will be packing our bags and heading back to the states.  Hopefully we will be spending the holidays with family back in Illinois and off to Tyndall AFB in Florida from Jan-April while Brad transitions to the F-22 (this is the newer fighter jet for those who are not air force savvy.)  Come May we will be headed to VA.

So as our tour here is coming to a shorter end, come one come all who wanted to visit Japan. What better time with free boarding and free tour guides.  We are trying to decide on our 'last' big trip destination in Asia.  Should it be China, Thailand, Vietnam, Mainland Japan.....oh the choices.  If this were you, where would you like to go?

So with this news, we are starting to go into overload of getting back in the 'America" way of life.  We are every Sellers dream, two cars, a house, cell phones, etc.....yet we are going bills, bills, bills!!  Yikes!  We have been spoiled here with our two bills, two cars that together cost 5, 000 and are not newer than 1995 but run great, no cell phones needed, and only one or two places to shop for clothes.  Talk about intimidating coming back into the real world.

HELLO WORLD!

Hello,  My name is Addison Mary Darling and my Mom and Dad think I am the cutest thing since....well....anything!  I am officially 13 days old today. I was born on 28 June 2008 at 9:14 a.m.  I weighed 7 lbs 13.9 oz and was 20 inches long.  I think Mom and Dad are starting to have a handle on things since I got to come home.  I have had MANY diaper changes....thanks Dad, many feedings....thanks Mom, many naps, and even a couple of baths.  I thought I would share with you a little bit of my life the first two   weeks.

Here is my dog Bailey, she does not really know what to think about me yet. She does like to sniff me A LOT and that tickles my face. When I cry, she runs up to see what is wrong, either that or to make me be quiet, we are not sure which one it is yet.

Here is my Dad, my Mom thought it would be a good picture to show that YES, he can multi-task,....good job Dad! Reading, sleeping and watching TV....his three favorite things.

Here is Mom giving me my first bath.  I did enjoy hanging out and looking out the window on such a sunny day.  That is my favorite thing to do while I am awake is look out the window and practice holding my head up.

Since I've been home, I have gone on a few outings.  I got to visit the doctor who said I was in tip top shape.  I went to TWO 4th of July parties.  I did not have a patriotic outfit for the day so that is why I have no pictures, sorry.  I let Mom and Dad go out to lunch and even the grocery store last weekend,....it did happen to be my nap time, but I still think I was helping them out. Mom and me have been running some errands this week and I enjoy the car rides.   I do like my car seat, it is a little big for me right now but I think I will grow into it very soon.

Well, that about sums up my first two weeks.  I think I am going to enjoy this life!

Memorial Day Weekend

Summer has finally arrived on Island as of Saturday May 24. The weather forecasted cloudy with rain ALL weekend, but to our surprise, the Sun, Heat and Humidity was what really showed up. Although it was a beautiful weekend to get out and explore the ocean and beach, it still had the ability to limit the time spent doing just that. I enjoyed a fun, lazy weekend with the gals of our squadron here. The guys are on a month long TDY to Alaska.....boy do I miss that especially when it is so HOT here in the summer. On Saturday night one of our friends had a group over to try out the Turkey Burger recipe that was on Oprah.....not sure when that was aired for you all, but we just recieved it last week and if you have not tried the recipe, it is truly very good! On Sunday, a few gals were nice enough to throw me a Baby Shower. They planned an outing on the beach so kids could come along and listed it as a 'Book' Party. Our library of knowledge is slowly adding up for our new little one! It turned out to be such a beautiful day, the water felt refreshing and you could get out of the sun with the pavillion that was rented. Bradley got to enjoy a much needed weekend 'away', from his dorm room that is. Brad and a couple guys from his class were able to stay at an Instructors house to help watch their dogs over the long weekend and they were able to get in a night of camping. I am glad he was able to get a reprieve from an upcoming busy three weeks left of his school...yes, I am counting the days! =-)

Enjoy a few pictures from my shower.

These are my friends who threw the beautiful and fun shower for me.   From the left, Jamie, Ivonne, Stephanie and Casey...THANK YOU ladies you made a great day even more spectacular!

This is the pavillion that they decorated Island Style and had delicious food and beverages to accompany.

This is the cake my friend Jamie made.....how CUTE is it!!  She did all the small detail work herself, it tasted just as good as it looks!
